Nature of Dispute: The University allegedly failed to follow procedures in Article 59, resulting in excessive discipline of members by means of letters of warning deposited in their personnel files.
Result of Grievance: The letters of warning that were party to this grievance were removed from the members' files. At Step 3, the parties agreed that a non-disciplinary letter of counselling is an acceptable method for administrators to communicate expectations to members. Letters of counselling are placed in members' personnel files, but said members have the opprotunity to respond, and to have their response placed in the personnel file.
