Nature of Dispute: WUFA was made aware of at least 17 AAS members who were appointed contrary to Article 12:21 of the Collective Agreement, which requires that AAS members be appointed to an AAU, in the Division of Athletics and Recreational Services, or in the Centre for Teaching and Learning. Further, there were at least 11 AAS Learning Specialist members who have been assigned teaching duties as part of their normal workload, but who were not appointed to a primary or secondary AAU as required by Article 1 of the Collective Agreement.

Result of Grievance: The grievance was resolved between the parties on December 19, 2018. WUFA and the University agreed to keep a number of individuals in their positions, but going forward the Administration shall apply Article 12:21 and Article 1 as they relate to the appointment of AAS:LS members.
